The first task of your Langtang Valley Trek 10 days will be arriving at the Tribhuvan International Airport located in the capital city of Nepal, Kathmandu. Our crew members will be waiting outside the terminal holding a signboard of our company name and yours to welcome you warmly in Nepal.
Then, you will be transferred to a three-star listed hotel in Kathmandu, which is just 30 to 45 minutes away from the international airport. After getting to the hotel, you can check out the hotel. Later in the late afternoon, we will arrange a little meeting to introduce each other to our guides, who will fill in all the required information about the trekking.
Today marks the second day of your Langtang Valley Trek 10 days. You can eat breakfast at your accommodation and prepare for today’s long drive to Syabrubesi. Then, our representative will pick you up in the hotel lobby and drive you to the bus station, where we will board a local bus to Syabrubesi in the morning. The bus will drive following the Trisuli Khola River, passing through the small settlements and towns on the way to Syabrubesi. After reaching Trisuli Bazaar, there will be rough roads that feel bumpy, which can still be a memorable day, adding a lot of fun and excitement to your journey. We will reach Syabrubesi after a long seven- to eight-hour drive from Kathmandu city, covering a total distance of 122 kilometers. Then, we will check our rooms in the lodge where we will spend the night before starting our hiking excursion. You can also book a private vehicle if you don’t like the local bus with an extra fee in the package of the short Langtang trek.
Our third day starts with a delicious breakfast in the Syabrubesi before heading to the Lama Hotel on this incredible Langtang Valley Trek 10 days adventurous journey. This will be your first day of hiking and the point of your trek. We will walk following the Langtang Khola River and continue the trek slightly uphill. We will also cross some suspension bridges and pass through terraced fields, dense jungles filled with bamboo, alders, and oaks, as well as small charming villages. You may also spot langur monkeys, red pandas, wild boars, etc., in the forests if you are in good luck while hiking. Then, we walk through the Rimche village before reaching the Lama Hotel. It will take us about five hours to reach from Syabrubesi to arrive at the Lama Hotel. After reaching here, you will be greeted with Tamang culture, showing why Nepal is rich in hospitality. Tonight, we will stay here enjoying traditional dishes in the teahouse.
On this short Langtang trek, we will leave the Lama Hotel and head towards Langtang Village after finishing our morning meal. Today, we will stroll along the Langtang Khola River and hike through the deep forest, crossing many hanging bridges. After that, we will arrive in Gumanechok village. Then we continue trekking up to Ghodatabela, which means “Horse Stable,” where there are many horses in the vicinity. Similarly, we will ultimately arrive at Thangshya, where we will take a short, pleasant break to rest. As we approach Langtang Village, we can see spectacular mountain views. We will arrive at Langtang Village, which is located at 3430 meters, after walking for six to seven hours across a distance of 12 kilometers. This is the biggest village in the Langtang Valley, nestled with terraced fields and mountains. If we reach early here, you can spend your time exploring the cheese factory and small monastery and trying different cuisines in Langtang Village.
Today, our next destination stop will be at Kyanjin Gompa (3870 m) on this fifth day of the short Langtang trek journey. We’ll leave this beautiful village right after having the first meal of the day. We will ascend through the yak pastures and small charming villages. You can see many prayer wheels, flags, mani walls, and chortens on the routes. We will reach Kyanjin Gompa after trekking for three to four hours, crossing many small rivers and glacial moraines. There is a Kyanjin Monastery, which you explore later in the evening after checking out in the teahouse where we will stay for two overnights as part of acclimatization. From this place, you can also see the vistas of Langtang Lirung, Dorje Lakpa, Langtang Ri, and other awe-inspiring mountains.
Although today is a rest day, we are not wasting our day just doing nothing. We will spend our day traveling over Kyanjin Gompa and soaking in the beauty of its amazing landscape and surroundings. To add more thrill on this sixth day of the Langtang Valley Trek 10 days, we will go on a hike to Kyanjin Ri, which lies at 4773 meters, making it the highest location of this wonderful trip. The hike to Kyanjin Ri is about 2.2 kilometers from Kyanjin Gompa, taking 2 hours for a single trip. You stand to witness breathtaking views of the snow-capped Himalayas, which will be the most memorable part of your day. If you seek a demanding challenge, you can also opt to hike Tsergo Ri (5033 meters). After taking in the beauty of Kyanjin Ri, we would descend back to Kyanjin Gompa to spend the one more night.
Today we will depart from beautiful Kyanjin Gompa and head back to the Lama Hotel on this short Langtang trek. The return journey will be easy as we are hiking to the lower level attitude. We will traverse through the Langtang Khola River, following the same trail as we ascended before in the trek. We will pass through the same Ghoda Tabela village where the descent path becomes steeper. When we return via Langtang village, make sure to take in all of its splendor one last time. We’ll arrive at the Lama Hotel after a five-hour hike. We sleep the night here, concluding the seventh day of the Langtang Valley Trek 10 days itinerary.
Our today’s destination will be towards Syabrubesi from the Lama Hotel, where our first trekking started and where our walking journey will come to an end on this eighth day of the short Langtang trek excursion trip. We will be retracing our steps back through the familiar trail to reach our destination. We’ll go through the tranquil pine woodlands and cross the Bhote Khola River Bridge. After four to five hours of hiking, we will arrive in Syabrubesi. We will stay at the lodge and celebrate our successful completion of the Langtang Valley Trek 10 days later with our fellow hikers over tasty readily available cuisines.
With cherished memories, we will depart from lovely Syabrubesi Village after having brunches in the lodge. Although the trekking is over, the picturesque drive to Kathmandu Valley is still a fun day with a lot of excitement on the road. You can enjoy the views of changing landscapes, glimpses of remote life, lush valleys, and beyond from the window seat of the bus. The travel to Kathmandu will take roughly 7 to 8 hours. Once you arrive in Kathmandu, we would transfer you to your hotel room. After supper, you can relax in the spa, buy for souvenirs, or visit other restaurants to eat anything you like. Your Langtang Valley Trek 10 days will end with many wonderful memories and moments created during the trip. You rise early in order to get ready for your flight. You would be picked up from your accommodation by a member of our crew, and you would be dropped off at the airport. However, it is advisable to reach the airport at least 2 to 3 hours before your flight to prevent any delay due to arterial traffic or any other reason.
