The Everest Base Camp Trek 14 Days is one of Nepal's most iconic Himalayan trekking adventures. The journey takes you deep into the Khumbu region, offering spectacular views of Mount Everest and other legendary peaks while introducing you to the unique culture and hospitality of the Sherpa people.
Beginning with a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, the trek follows the traditional Everest trail through Phakding, Namche Bazaar, Tengboche, Dingboche, Lobuche, and Gorakshep before reaching Everest Base Camp.
Along the way, you will walk through Sagarmatha National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its dramatic mountain landscapes, alpine forests, glaciers, rivers, and diverse flora and fauna. The trail also passes through traditional Sherpa villages, Buddhist monasteries, mani walls, prayer flags, and ancient cultural landmarks.
Two acclimatization days in Namche Bazaar and Dingboche help your body adjust to increasing altitude. The trek reaches its highest point at Kala Patthar (5,545 m), where you can enjoy spectacular panoramic views of Mount Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Pumori, Ama Dablam, and other Himalayan peaks.
The Everest Base Camp Trek is physically demanding because of the altitude, long walking days, steep ascents, and rugged terrain. However, the combination of incredible scenery, cultural experiences, and the achievement of reaching Everest Base Camp makes it a memorable Himalayan adventure.
Your Everest Base Camp adventure begins when you arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. A representative from Nyindha Adventures will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel in Thamel.
After checking in, you can rest or explore the lively streets of Thamel. In the evening, you will attend a trek briefing where your guide will explain the itinerary, trekking conditions, equipment, safety procedures, and other important details.
After breakfast, you will transfer to the airport for your flight to Lukla. The approximately 35-minute flight offers spectacular aerial views of mountains, valleys, hills, and deep gorges.
During busy trekking seasons, flights to Lukla may operate from Manthali Airport in Ramechhap due to air-traffic conditions around Kathmandu.
After landing at Lukla, you will meet your trekking crew and begin walking toward Phakding. The trail follows the Dudh Koshi River and passes through Chheplung, Thado Koshi, and several small settlements.
After approximately 3–4 hours of trekking, you will reach Phakding, where you will spend the night.
Today, you will trek toward Namche Bazaar, the main trading and cultural center of the Khumbu region.
The trail follows the Dudh Koshi River and crosses several suspension bridges before reaching Monjo, the entrance area of Sagarmatha National Park. After completing the necessary permit formalities, you will continue through Jorsale and follow the river before beginning the steep ascent toward Namche Bazaar.
As you approach Namche, you may catch your first views of Mount Everest and surrounding peaks, depending on weather conditions.
After approximately 6–7 hours of trekking, you will reach Namche Bazaar.
Today is an acclimatization day in Namche Bazaar. Rather than spending the entire day resting, you will take a short hike to higher elevations before returning to Namche.
The trail leads toward Everest View Hotel, from where you can enjoy spectacular views of Mount Everest, Ama Dablam, Lhotse, and other Himalayan peaks.
Depending on the route and conditions, you can also visit Khumjung Village, Kunde Village, Syangboche, the Hillary School, and the Sherpa Culture Museum.
After exploring the area, you will return to Namche Bazaar for another overnight stay.
After breakfast, you will leave Namche Bazaar and continue toward Tengboche. The trail initially follows a relatively gradual route with spectacular views of the surrounding mountains before descending toward Phunki Tenga. From there, you will cross the river and begin a steep ascent through rhododendron and juniper forests toward Tengboche. Tengboche is famous for its Buddhist monastery and panoramic mountain views. On arrival, you can explore the monastery and enjoy views of Everest, Ama Dablam, Nuptse, Lhotse, and other peaks.
After breakfast, you will continue toward Dingboche. The trail descends through forests toward the Imja Khola before crossing the river and continuing toward Pangboche. Along the way, you will pass traditional Sherpa settlements, mani walls, chortens, prayer flags, and beautiful mountain landscapes. As you approach Dingboche, the landscape becomes increasingly alpine. The village is surrounded by stone walls that protect agricultural fields from strong winds and grazing animals. From Dingboche, you can enjoy impressive views of Ama Dablam and Island Peak.
Today is your second acclimatization day. You will take a gradual hike toward Nangkartshang Peak to help your body adjust to the increasing altitude.
The hike involves a steep climb but rewards you with impressive views of Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Nuptse, Makalu, Island Peak, and surrounding mountains.
After spending some time at the viewpoint, you will descend back to Dingboche and spend another night at the tea house.
After breakfast, you will continue through the upper Khumbu Valley toward Lobuche.
The trail follows the valley and gradually approaches the Khumbu Glacier. After reaching Thukla, you will begin the ascent toward Thukla Pass.
At the pass, you will encounter memorials dedicated to climbers who lost their lives during Himalayan expeditions. The surrounding views of Pumori, Nuptse, and other peaks add to the emotional and dramatic atmosphere of this section of the trek.
You will then continue toward Lobuche, a small high-altitude settlement where you will spend the night.
Today is one of the most important days of the trek as you make your way to Everest Base Camp.
You will begin early and follow the rugged trail through the upper Khumbu Valley. After reaching Gorakshep at approximately 5,164 m, you will leave your heavier belongings at the tea house and continue toward Everest Base Camp.
The trail passes through rocky and glacial terrain. Depending on seasonal conditions, some sections may be more challenging.
After reaching Everest Base Camp, you will have time to appreciate the surrounding glaciers and towering peaks, including Khumbutse, Nuptse, and the Everest region.
After spending time at Base Camp, you will retrace your route back to Gorakshep for the night.
Today begins early with one of the major highlights of the trek: the hike to Kala Patthar.
You will ascend before sunrise to reach the viewpoint, where clear weather can provide spectacular panoramic views of Mount Everest, Nuptse, Pumori, Lhotse, and surrounding Himalayan peaks.
After enjoying the sunrise and mountain scenery, you will descend to Gorakshep for breakfast.
You will then continue downhill toward Pheriche, passing through Lobuche and Thukla before following the trail toward the lower valley.
Pheriche is a traditional settlement and an important stop for trekkers and mountaineering support teams.
After breakfast, you will begin your descent toward Namche Bazaar.
The trail passes through traditional villages including Pangboche and continues toward Tengboche. You will cross the Imja Khola and pass through forests, rivers, and mountain settlements. After reaching Phunki Tenga, you will continue along the trail toward Namche Bazaar. As you descend to a lower elevation, the landscape gradually changes from high alpine terrain to greener forests and more vegetation. After reaching Namche, you can relax and enjoy the comforts of the town.
After breakfast, you will begin the final trekking day of your Everest Base Camp journey. The trail descends from Namche and continues toward Jorsale and Monjo. You will leave Sagarmatha National Park and continue along the Dudh Koshi River. After passing through Phakding, you will follow the trail toward Lukla. Upon reaching Lukla, you can relax and celebrate the completion of your trek with your guide and trekking team.
After breakfast, you will take your flight from Lukla to Kathmandu. The approximately 35-minute flight offers one final aerial view of the Himalayan landscape. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, our representative will transfer you to your hotel. You can spend the afternoon relaxing, exploring Thamel, shopping for souvenirs, or enjoying local cuisine.
In the evening, Nyindha Adventures will organize a small celebration and present your trekking achievement certificate.
Your Everest Base Camp Trek officially concludes today. After breakfast, a representative from Nyindha Adventures will transfer you to Tribhuvan International Airport according to your flight schedule. You are advised to arrive at the airport approximately 2–3 hours before your international departure.
