The Bumdra Trek is one of Bhutan’s most scenic short treks—ideal for travellers seeking a rewarding Himalayan experience without long or strenuous days on the trail. Beginning near Paro, the route gently winds through fragrant pine forests, ridgelines adorned with fluttering prayer flags, and expansive alpine meadows, offering captivating views of the distant snow-capped Himalayas.
The highlight of the trek is the campsite at Bumdra, meaning the “Cave of a Thousand Prayers.” Perched high above the valley, it offers a truly breathtaking panorama overlooking Paro. Surrounded by sacred caves and serene landscapes, the setting creates a deeply spiritual and peaceful atmosphere.
On the following morning, the trail descends towards the iconic Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest), one of Bhutan’s most revered landmarks. This unforgettable finale perfectly blends cultural significance with natural beauty, making the Bumdra Trek a unique combination of spiritual discovery, panoramic scenery, and soft adventure-all within just two days.
